February = Respect
The word for the month is: RESPECT!!!
R-E-S-P-E-C-T find out what it means to me!
noun: a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities or achievements.
verb: admire (someone or something) deeply, as a result of their abilities, qualities or achievements
February is one of the hardest months for people, I have found. Strangely it is the shortest month but can sometimes feel like the longest! It can be cold, and feel bleak and it's the month right before official springtime! These things can make us irritable, and so RESPECT it a great word to focus on as we may find ourselves getting fussy with people, places, or Valentine's Day haha.
Let's think about how we can respect EACH OTHER more! Maybe it's just by actively listening to someone, or being fully present in conversation. Respect people's time, where can you start showing up on time or even early? Where have you been slacking in that area? Respect someone else's view point, maybe instead of letting that judging mind come in, you take a moment to just HEAR them and say "I've never thought of it that way"... Respect other's space, sometimes people are going through things and just need some space and need to know it's ok to have that!
And of course, how can we respect OURSELVES more? Where have we been beating ourselves up? Where have we been continually choosing the food, people, situations that ultimately disrespect our bodies? Our bodies do SO much work for us, every single moment of the day and night, can we ultimately remember to respect that instead of the opposite!
I love this word to focus on for the month. We can do it. We are on this journey together! When the going get's tough this month, come back to the word RESPECT, and see if that can help you reinterpret the way your mind is taking you! Happy February, Happy Valentine's Day and Singles Awareness Day!!!
