Empower

IMG_0597.jpg

Welcome to EMPOWERing yourselves and each other! I feel powerful just saying the word EMPOWER!!

Here’s the definition of the word EMPOWER: make (someone) stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights.

Aren’t you immediately on board with this idea? What a world it would be if we chose to lift each other up into the light and to encourage one another to be our best selves? The thing is, it’s hard to empower someone else when we ourselves are feeling powerless. So remember to take time in gratitude or meditation or prayer in order to reignite your power and then power up others with your light!

What are some ways you can empower yourself or others this day/week/month/year? Here’s some ideas to get you started: listen to someone so they feel heard, be less judgmental, make time for activities that destress you, donate money if you can, look a homeless person in the eyes to let them know they are seen, recycle and help the planet, call or text someone just to see how they are, let someone know you love them, gratitude practice for SURE, and of course telling someone that YOU ARE ENOUGH YOU ARE SO ENOUGH IT’S UNBELIEVABLE HOW ENOUGH YOU ARE!!!!

There are so many ways to empower!! Comment below and empower each other! Remember the key to empowerment is to know how enough you are! So I empower you to know how enough you ARE!!!

Empathy

Oh my loves! EMPATHY!!!!

Empathy is a skill, it is a practice, it is a right of passage as a human! To be able to empathize with each other… to listen without judgment… to connect, deeply connect, as someone is going through something… it’s one of the most incredible gifts we can give ourselves and others!

When we are going through something, we just want to know that we aren’t alone and that we are heard. The times we feel the most heard and understood is when someone has taken the time to practice empathy as they listen. Think how good it feels when someone has just truly said “I’m so sorry, I understand how you feel.” No advice needed, just the simple understanding that what the other person is going through is recognized. It’s a beautiful way to connect and care!

Let’s challenge ourselves to be empathetic to each other. Whenever our judging mind comes in, see instead, if there is a place for listening with the intent to bring comfort or to learn a new way of being… Why not? We can always learn something from each other by staying open and empathetic. Allowing ourselves to grow just from being fully present to what another person is going through.

I am on this journey with you! Comment below and be there for one another as you always do! Empathy is alive and well!

Integrity

Here’s an idea: INTEGRITY!!!

Each year we are met with a whole new 365 of possibilities and new beginnings! A year of anything is possible!  But with these possibilities we need something to ground us as we explore new paths. That grounding is "integrity."

The definition of Integrity is "the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles: honesty, good character, sincerity, truthfulness, trustworthiness." And there it is.

I want us to really think about INTEGRITY as we are recommitting to ourselves.  When we make the choice to go to the gym, are we going just to go, or are we going to be present and have integrity with each step we take, each workout move we do?  Can we have integrity, stay honest and true to our bodies when we eat?  Let's challenge ourselves to be AWARE of what we are choosing to put into ourselves!  Is our INTEGRITY still in tact?

And most importantly, integrity with each other.  Are the words we are choosing to say, the conversations we are participating in, the questions we are asking and answering, staying within our integrity? I love the idea that Brene Brown talks about, "common enemy intimacy" which is where we bond with someone over our dislike of the same person.  I think this is a really important lesson for us to be aware of this month!

I'm so excited to focus on INTEGRITY with you!  I am proud of all of you for making it this far!  I am excited for the possibilities that lie ahead but first... let’s ground ourselves in integrity.

Marination Station: Before any big decisions this month, pause and ask yourself, "Am I being true to my highest self?  Would I be proud of myself for what I am about to say or do?" Remember, your higher self is the one ALWAYS telling you "you are enough, you are SO enough, it's unbelievable how enough you are!"

Enoughness: Integrity TRULY is about trusting your enoughness!  Comment below, talk to each other, see how this word resonates with you and others!
